Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Master Remote for Android TV mobile application ("the App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information processed while you use our App.
1. Information Collection and Use
The App is designed to function locally over your home network. We do not require you to create an account, nor do we collect, store, or sell any personal identifying information (such as your name, address, or phone number).
2. Permissions Used by the App
To provide Wi-Fi remote control and media casting features, the App requests specific device permissions:
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Required to discover Android TV devices connected to your local network and send remote commands over Wi-Fi.
- CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: Required for local mDNS / SSDP network discovery to automatically find TVs on your network.
- VIBRATE: Used solely to provide haptic feedback when pressing remote control buttons.
3. Local Storage
Paired device details (such as your TV's local IP address, device name, and pairing credentials) are stored locally and encrypted on your device using Android Encrypted SharedPreferences. This data remains on your physical device and is never uploaded to external servers.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device for advertising, analytics, and push notifications:
- Google Play Services & AdMob (Advertising and ad identification)
- OneSignal (Push notifications)
5. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective action.
