Privacy Policy - Projector or TV Remote
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Projector or TV Remote ("we", "us", or "our") processes, uses, and protects your information when you download, install, and use our mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to safeguarding your personal privacy and adhering strictly to Google Play Developer Policies and global data protection standards (including GDPR and CCPA).
1. Overview & Local Processing Model
Zero Account Registration: Our App does not require any personal account creation, email sign-ups, or login credentials. All remote communication with your Android Projector or TV takes place strictly over your local Wi-Fi network without routing control signals through external proprietary servers.
2. Information Collected & Processed
To provide reliable wireless remote control and device connectivity, the App processes only minimal, necessary technical information:
- Local Network Discovery Data: The App scans your local Wi-Fi network using standard discovery protocols (mDNS / SSDP) solely to find compatible Android Projectors, Smart Projectors, Android TVs, and Roku devices connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network. We never store or transmit your Wi-Fi password or private network credentials.
- Saved Device Profiles: Device names, local IP addresses, port numbers, and secure local certificate aliases are stored strictly on your phone's internal storage (via Android SharedPreferences) to facilitate instant auto-reconnect.
- Voice Control Processing: When you use the Voice Control feature, your spoken voice commands (such as volume up, mute, navigation, or app launch commands) are converted to text using the on-device Android Speech Recognizer. Audio recordings are never stored, saved, transmitted, or sold to third parties.
- Diagnostic & Crash Data: Anonymous technical device information (such as Android OS version, device model, and crash logs) may be collected to resolve performance bugs and improve stability.
3. Android Permissions & Why We Need Them
In accordance with Google Play permission minimization guidelines, the App requests only permissions essential for its core remote control features:
RECORD_AUDIO: (Optional) Required solely when you actively tap the microphone button to dictate voice commands (e.g., "volume up", "open YouTube"). Voice processing is executed in real-time and audio is never retained.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE/ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Verifies that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi before scanning for projectors or TVs.CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE: Enables multicast network packet transmission to discover smart projectors and TVs on the local subnet.INTERNET: Allows direct TCP/SSL and HTTP command transmission between your phone and your smart projector or TV over the local Wi-Fi network, as well as loading advertisement components.VIBRATE: Provides tactile haptic feedback whenever a remote button is pressed.
4. Third-Party Services & Advertising
To keep the App free for all users, we integrate trusted third-party SDKs that may process anonymous, non-personally identifiable advertising identifiers:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Serves banner and interstitial advertisements in compliance with Google Play Advertising Policies. You can learn more about Google's data handling at Google Privacy & Terms.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): Delivers European Economic Area (EEA) and UK privacy consent controls (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance.
5. Data Retention & Security
We implement robust industry-standard safeguards to protect your data. All control commands, keystrokes, and SSL certificates remain confined to your local private network. We do not maintain any cloud databases storing user activity, remote key presses, or viewed media history.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate corrective action.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted directly on this page with a revised "Last Updated" timestamp.
